Finally I've managed to squeeze in some time to finish coding an update. There is one new chapter to REM and Andrake's IwtA as well as a whole lot of PNGs and Wallpapers. I will be updating that section more often now because leaving it until I get chapters done leaves a lot of stuff to code -.- Enjoy the update, the Sailor Moon wallpapers will be up next update (hopefully next week). I did tell my boss I can only work Sundays from now on until June so I can enjoy the rest of my Winter break before the semester begins. Guestbook Issues

I am removing the guestbook from MASA until I can find a better one that doesn't allow spam. There were 119 comments and all but one was spam. And that one was by me at the very beginning. I do not like getting spammed comments, nor do I like the idea of removing the GuestBook but getting links for viagra and loan companies are not what I want coming into my site.

Isn't it pretty? The layout is from Kaiyosei.net, one of my favorite graphic sites and a place i based the new masa layout on ^_^ Still trying to finish my CS lab today, finals next week mean that the earliest the next update will happen is Thursday (don't bet on that day though). Yes, I am working! Yes, there will be a winter layout up! Yes, there will be more stories to read! Yes, there are layouts4U! No, they will not be up tonight -.-

To give you a brief understanding what this week is gonna be (and is like so far), I've got a computer science lab due friday (I'm creating my own Unix shell!), physics homework and quiz to study for for Thursday, Mythology paper to still type out, and a Matrices/Linear Algebra test to study for. I also turned in my application for an internship in the summer with the FBI.

MASA is 250+ files to edit at this moment in time, updates are taking a few days to complete, and since the last update was a reupload due to server downage, I had to stop what I was updating and try to make what was there work again. Its stressful, its a ton of coding and its gonna get done this week between projects and stuff.

On a side note, I also get to go to a dance with my boyfriend this Friday (in a fancy dress). And then I work Saturday morning....

Insert Favorite Explicative

Things have all of a sudden piled up on me. I've been scheduled for 4 days this week and have to go to the other store for some store meeting at the break of dawn. Classes have decided to give papers and tests...MASA will be up, I thank everyone for their patience and beg for a little more time.

I am trying to fix the links (especially in the graphics section) because of the update I was previously working on for next month. Its slow work but things will be done uploading tonight, whether or not everything is linkable is another thing.

GUESTBOOK IS DOWN/LOST!!! I don't know when/if I will be remaking it, I got so much spam on that thing that I'm honestly considering just doing a tagboard or something...or just find a more secure guestbook service I can use...suggestions are welcome

As above says, its almost over. I've finished my midterms and have just one more thing to do for the middle of the semester hell week, a lab...that i doubt ill be able to finish ^^;

MASA will have a new layout after Halloween and it will be a winter type layout utilyzing tables to give it a nice professional look while still having the anime influence (and its blue too).

Kazi's chapters are almost coded (well, he sent me a coded version of Sho 7 so...), but I am working this weekend so I'm not making promises. At the very least, I will post the first coded chapter by Sunday.

Anyway, back to the lab, I hope everyone has had a better week than me! Good night!

I've been in kind of a slump lately. Classes have really piled on the work (especially physics) and work has been calling me in 3 days a week. I'm not totally healthy right now so this blog might not be updated as much this week. Things just got a little bit busy, I got drafted for working this wednesday night (which is the night before my weekly homework is due) so I'm working a little extra hard on school work while I still can (I get home at 730pm on tuesdays so...)

MASAs got nothing new (I just updated Saturday, what do you expect) but I do have big plans in the future for it. The first surprise will be posted the beginning of next month (probably the 2nd which is Sunday). Until then...behave and have fun ^_^

I was able to finish the update this morning so MASA has the halloween layout along with several other layouts that I finished for you guys to download. I will take a break from coding for the time being, hopefully I'll be able to write something soon.

The following is a work related rant that has nothing to do with MASA, read if you want:

I'm begining to feel used at my job. I am approaching 2 years at the company and have been bounced around 3 different stores. I took the job because the boss at the first store needed another worker and my mom suggested me. I was only supposed to work there over the Christmas Holiday Season but my boss was impressed and asked to keep me on as Part Time during the semester. Then I was transfered to another store when my mom was promoted. I can sort of understand why but it wasn't like I was scheduled with her or that she had any control over me since she wasn't an actual boss.

At the second store (moved before yearly review), well things were different. Long story short, it was closed in June just when I was supposed to be put up for review for a raise/promotion. Instead, they laid me off and I had a work-free summer. Thats nice except for the fact that I was going to offer to work full time this summer and get my training for promotion.

Now they hired me back at another store 1 hour away from me where the customers are straight out rude and condescending treating me like a stupid little baby girl who knows jack and people who are trying to get me to work their hours before I've even met them because they want to go out and party on a friday night! I'm not paid enough for this kind of stuff, I want to be treated like a human being and not yelled at or looked down upon. I want my review which I've been cheated out of twice! The district manager has already said I work better than some of the managers and that I was the only person she wanted back with the company after they closed my second store, so why won't anyone acknowledge me with a simple raise or at least offer me something!

Apparently yesterday's post didn't come through...I know I submitted it but oh well I guess I'll lump it into todays post.

I've been in a coding mood for the past few days. I've already completed 2 layout requests (one Div - Dreams - and one iframe - Scifi2 -), finished a Div/Table layout called Angelic, have a div layer to make for MASA Halloween, plan on doing a matching Div/Table to Angelic called Devilish or Demonic (still deciding on that), and planned/sketched out 2 table layouts. As for writing...well at least I'm being semi creative with the coding ^^;

MASA update today, I actually added one of the poems I wrote. I'm not into writing or reading poetry to be honest, but sometimes I get this weird feeling and before you know it I've written a poem. Anyone else getting tired of the MASA layout or is it just me? Since I am not a big pink person and feel more comfortable with blue I've been thinking about changing the layout again, but since its only been up for a month I wanted to know if I should wait a bit longer? Anyway, I'm not really sure what to change it to, I'm just getting that urge again ^^; Mostly its because I'm having trouble coming up with more REM but I do like regular changes........this urge might also be the result of browsing those darn layout sites like daydreamgraphics.com too, I'm beginning to want to try a table MASA....anyway, I'm just nuts really.

Another Long Thursday

Well, I knew going into this semester that Thursdays would be tough but I think I'm running out of steam. Classes went well (actually Aced my physics quiz) and I got to see my friend Jasmine during my break. Tomorrow I'll get to visit her some more before coming home since classes end early ^_^

Now, about the writing stuff. No I am not not writing things, I actually have 2 different versions of chapter 1: the truth for REM, its just that I'm having problems recreating the mode/tone I had established in the prologue (and I really really don't want to get ride of that). I did do two spoof things for the creation of the universe, one dealing with math homework and the other with Windows ^_^ There's also a short poem I wrote, but I'm not sure if that will ever be posted....so I am writing but I just am not happy with what I've written....sorry, hopefully my muses will come back soon

Hello again, well its almost time for me to go to class so this might be updated after I get back from campus...

Direlie and I have decided to do a random author of the month, basically we're pulling names out of a hat ^_^ That way there are no favorites. I'll post who the first author is in a few days with some possible questions we will be asking.

Graphics section will be updated with more wallpapers soon, along with REM's first chapter (or at least part of said first chapter) entitled The Truth ^_^

I've gotten rid of the splash page on MASA just because I didn't like it. That means that when you visit the site you will be brought directly to the Main Page with the counter there. By clicking the Home button on your left you will also be brought to this page but minus the counter (that way we don't count the same visitor twice in one visit).

On another note, anyone play MapleStory? Its addicting! All the little chibi warriors ^^ its free and online and just plain fun...of course I just started so we'll see how long this lasts. I'm username nike13, and have one character on the first World, character named nikechan ^^

Well, it was only a matter of time before I changed the layout here to something blue ^_^ The pink was pretty and the layout was gorgeous but pink is just not me. So its been changed.

MASA stuff is going well, Direlie and I are finishing up on the basics for the Interview thing which seems to be really neat. I'm excited to hear the other's answers. I won't force anyone to do it if they don't want to but the authors that already agree with the interview are:

An Idea

Direlie has come up with a very neat little idea for MASA. She has suggested that we do an Interview With The Author special once a month with each author of the site. Obviously, each author gets one interview and only one, and they will answer the questions that have been bugging you (the reader/other authors).

Suggested questions would be nice/helpful. Then we'll try and figure out what order we should interview our victims...I mean writers ^_^; This might start as soon as this month (if we can get our act together, and by we I mean me) and will last 6 months since we have 6 authors.

MASA Future Fun

Just finished one of the new Layouts4U. Its named Magical Happenings and uses Div Layers. Very, very simple layout, best for small sites and blogs. The other layouts will be as follows:

1. Into the Sunset - Table Layout, image from some misc series and with an orangey color motif
2. Angelic - Div Layer Layout, image from Chobits by CLAMP; by checking out the other layouts I've made and user, I'm obviously a Chii fan and the artwork by CLAMP for that series is just too perfect to pass up
3. Halloween - Table Layout, might never happen if I can't get things to work right. Orange/Black colors using an image from Pita Ten (I think its Pita Ten, might be DigiCharat since I usually get those animes confused)

Story Info: I'll post any new updates from our other authors within 1-3 days of getting it depending how classes are. As for my stuff, well....we might have to wait til the end of the month for anything from me just because I'm trying to sort things out. REM Ch1 will definately be different from what it is now but I will be keeping the prologue since it sets the tone I want so perfectly.

Well, as of tomorrow this blog will be a week old and I'm still here ^_^ Not much to say today. Its Labor Day weekend, that means its a 3 day weekend, unfortunately I'll be working tomorrow but the rest of the weekend will be devoted to catching up on my sleep, playing with Unix/Linux, scanning a new Nike image I drew, and (of course) homework.

Not feeling very creative right now. I'm actually watching the viewer's choice Stargate SG-1 Marathon. Its been good

Remember Me

I promised to show you what I'm thinking as far as MASA and my stories on it so, as promised, my plans for rem. Everything is still up in the air on this one, including the rating which might increase to PG-18 depending on how I want to handle the relationship of a few Goddesses....This will definately be different from Fate but I will try and put in some humor.

One of my chapter stories, Remember Me (rem) will definately be my darkest story, something along the lines of Tunnel or The Boy. The basic plot of the story will be about the minor deities in Greek Mythology. Some of them will be Nemesis (Goddess of Vengence, ex-Titan), Nike (Goddess of Victory, ex-Titan), Eris (Goddess of Discord, Olympian), Thanatos (Death, ex-Titan), and Cratos (Strength, ex-Titan). There also might be an appearance made by The Morai (fates) who appeared in Fate but the stories won't actually have anything to do with each other, I just like the idea of the fates and might want to use them again.

The story won't be about the gods in ancient greece but about their reincarnations in modern times and how those reincarnations deal with the memories of their past lives (love, death, duty that sort of thing). It will also delve into why there are no more Greek Gods as in the myths. There won't be any appearances by Zeus, Hera, Ares, or any of the other 'major' gods just because I feel they've had the spotlight for much too long. I will also need to do research on Christian myths/lengends because those will play a big role in the plot as well.

Any thoughts/criticisms about anything above will be listened to. And myth is defined as a story that explains why things are the way they are, so anyone against the use of myth anywhere above can just deal with the usage. Some will not like this story but if that's the case, just don't read it ^^; It sounds mean, but I'm not forcing you to and I'm afraid I might get yelled at for something....people might not like the idea of mixing greek myths with Christian beliefs but this is all for fun after all ^_^

Well, its been a long day today even though I got out of classes early ^^; I'm coding a table layout, not sure if it will be a layout for this blog or a Layout4U at MASA yet but its coming along. These table layouts are a little more difficult that the Div layers I'm used to but its turning out nicely.

Still playing around with sigs, I'll try posting some here later....it doesn't seem to be working right now...

Well, classes have been going for....4 days now and I've already begun to procrastinate ^^ You want proof, I'm at the computer lab right now when I could be reading my book for Mythology class, I could be writing my proposal for Thursday's Tech Com class (Technical Communication), I could be doing my physics homework (if anyone reading this actually knows me, they would know I would do everything else before this just cause....its physics).

I've typed up The Tunnel Part II and will be posting it tonight (probably) when I get a chance to actually code it into the rest of MASA. Then I'll post it on the usual sites like DeviantArt and Eternal Dreams' Forums (that's MASA's affiliate if anyone is wondering, link at bottom of page). Killerqueen has offered his wonderful skills to proofread/revise Fate of all those grammatical and spelling mistakes I love so much ^_^ I pity you.

If anyone actually reads this, please let me know, I feel like I'm talking to myself. At least tell me if you (yeah you, the person who suggested this) is reading or else I will feel very stupid.

Back to MASA stuff, I do like the idea of this blog. Basically I will write out any future plans about the site I have here so you guys/gals will know what is running through my head. This will be updated daily unless I'm on vacation or its a Holiday (at least there will be a Happy *insert holiday here* message). Little will actually have anything to do with my personal life since I'm generally a very private girl. Anyway, things I wanna do with MASA:

1. I've been playing with sigs lately (those things in people's signature boxes on forums), there might be a section if I get better
2. Removing Old Updates and putting it up like a blog, its easier to manage (I'm lazy)
3. Play with table layouts just cause they look cool and I've been doing a lot of Div Layer stuff recently

Well, the good news is that The Tunnel does have a Part II and its written. The bad news is that I'm gonna be lazy today and read more Hana Yori Dango. Any complaints should be lodged with my friend Jasmine who gave me the books (reading vol13 out of 36) ^_^ Its very good

Well, this is a good sign, its been 24 hours and I'm still here. I've been known to start diaries/journals then stop them within a week so we'll have to wait and see about this.

So, let's see, what I did today....I went to a Stargate SG-1 convention here in Chicago and got to meet Christopher Judge (Teal'c) and Micheal Shanks (Daniel Jackson). I also peroused the dealer's room and got myself another T-shirt ^^; can never have too many of those. I've also decided to dabble in creating signatures for forums and stuff. It seems harder than wallpaper design because there's a much more limited space and file size but I like a challenge.

Now onto MASA stuff, if anyone's curious its been suggested by my good friend WHAngel that The Tunnel should/could be continued into a second chapter. The idea intrigues me and as such I shall be rereading that one chapter story seeing what pops up ^_^ Since the story was written under a caffeine-less fog, I shall try to repeat the phenomenon (since me without coffee is a rare thing) tomorrow morning while I'm on my way to campus. I'll also be playing with ideas for Remember Me as well.

I'll post ideas tomorrow, for tonight I shall design ^_^

Well, its seems nowadays that everyone has one of these things and there have been some people asking me for a blog from my website (MASA: MsAuthor's Story Archive). So here it is ^^;

I don't really know anyone here so maybe I should post a little about me first...I go under a few screen names but the one I use most now is nike13. The screen name is from the goddess Nike in Greek Mythology who was goddess of Victory and my lucky number 13 ^_^ I choose Nike because that's who my real name is derrived from. I am 21 years old and go to college at IIT in Chicago, IL, USA for computer science, so obviously I love computer stuff. I like to dabble in graphic design but am a coder at heart. I don't know any foreign languages well enough to speak but I do know HTML, Java, C/C++, BASIC, and Y86/i83 processor language ^^; I like to doodle and write in my spare time and my site (link above) has my stories and graphics as well as stories by some of my online/real life friends.
